My work has helped identify several ways that families with addiction don’t talk about their issues. I see a similar pattern in today’s discussions of sexual health despite the fact that this is a critical piece of the recovery process. I recently collaborated with the Change Companies® to create an interactive journal titled, Perspective: Exploring Your Sexual Behaviors. It is my hope that Perspective will help you feel safe to explore your sexual health and make decisions that support your recovery.
The information and exercises I have included in this Journal will give you a chance to examine the relationship between your alcohol or other drug use and your sexual behavior, recognize the impact of your sexual behavior on your self-esteem, identify areas for change and take control of your sexual health. I explore issues such as cultural, media and family influences, sexual self-esteem, conflicting values, beliefs that drive sexual behavior, and sexual secrets.
Perspective provides participants with the tools necessary for positive, personal change and presents information in an effective and engaging manner, reinforcing content with core graphics and relevant questions. Journaling exercises further personalize this material, both supporting program facilitation and creating personal value for each individual.
This Journal is only available from the Change Companies. Clicking on this link will take you to their website.
